Improving Our Pier for Better Serving Our Peers

In the Summer of 2010 we have started to enlarge the pier eastbound. With partial funding from the Saami development funds the pier will be ready for the 2011 season. The new pier will amongst others make boarding to the bird safari easier. 23.07.10

The Entire Road (FV 156) to Gjesvær Has New Asphalt

For years, the 21 km road to Gjesvær has been a bumpy one. Last year, the worst parts were asphalted. In the beginning of June the rest was asphalted. On June 21st the entire road to Gjesvær was covered by asphalt. In a formal letter to the county in 2008, we stated that the bird safari is an important tourist attraction in Finnmark. With the complete renovation, the County of Finnmark has confirmed the importance of the seabirds in Gjesvær. 23.07.10

Creative Itinerary - One O’clock in The Morning Bird Safari

In sub arctic weather 80 guests from Poland saw the puffins, eagles etc between 1:00 and 2:30 AM one morning in late June. An idea for other groups? 23.07.10

Better Sound Waves

The feedback we received after a familiarization trip last year was helpful. Our colleagues couldn’t hear everything that the captain was saying on the bird safari excursion on August 26th, 2009.

Before the 2010 season, new loudspeakers were installed on both MS Havsula (max 50 pax) and MS Lundekongen (max 97 pax).

Now the guest can enjoy better sound waves on the excursion. 23.07.10
