For years, the 21 km road to Gjesvær has been a bumpy one. Last year, the worst parts were asphalted. In the beginning of June the rest was asphalted. On June 21st the entire road to Gjesvær was covered by asphalt. In a formal letter to the county in 2008, we stated that the bird safari is an important tourist attraction in Finnmark. With the complete renovation, the County of Finnmark has confirmed the importance of the seabirds in Gjesvær. 23.07.10
